I am a qualified primary school teacher and love to share knowledge with others. I have engaged many pupils and colleagues with the natural (real!) world. Children from a variety of backgrounds and socio-economic groups have reacted positively to my style of teaching.
In this video I am engaging children with their local environment and teaching them about the importance and diversity of insect pollinators.
I have over ten years experience of carrying out ecology surveys in the UK and Australia. The focus as a professional ecologist at home has been on surveys of mammals, amphibians, and birds, amongst other wildlife.
While deep in the red interior of Australia I’ve had the privilege of long term residential volunteering with Australian Wildlife Conservancy. An extensive survey of remote escarpments at Newhaven for the endangered black-footed rock-wallaby Petrogale lateralis was one of the many highlights.
